Concealed carry permits should not face ban after one small incident

The hysteria about the presence of a firearm at the Fun Depot is overshadowing fact that it was carried by an authorized law enforcement officer. There is a question if the officer actually discharged his weapon. If he did, the circumstances that he was attacked and knocked down by two assailants who were attempting to disarm him would justify it. His marksmanship was questionable, but after being punched and knocked down, I'm not sure mine would be any better.

Now, because an officer had a firearm on the premises, the manager is forbidding concealed carry on premises by civilians with permits. That's nonsense. Unless metal detectors are used, only criminals will have weapons inside. That definitely isn't a good idea. Entry should be forbidden to anyone over 16 except parents with children. I have never entered the Fun Depot, but it should be for children, not 17-plus street thugs. I'm glad the man had courage to confront them about their profane language with children present. That they responded violently is proof that they shouldn't have been allowed entry initially.
